Akuigawa

The valley where Kamiyama sits is the Akuigawa river valley. From what I have found out, the Akui is named for the fish, a very tasty one, although this was followed by the statement that there are not sa many akui as there once were. Each steep hillside ravine has its own turbulent stream that cascades down and feeds the Akui. The river is clear and refreshing on these hot September days, the pools are a clear aqua blue.
